Questions
Is my document sent anywhere?
Not with the built-in voices (the default). If you turn on online voices, the text being read is sent to your browser’s maker (for example Google or Microsoft) to make the sound, so keep those off for private documents.
Can it read Hindi?
Yes, if your device has a Hindi voice. Phones usually do; on a computer you may need to add one in the system’s language settings.
Can it read a scanned PDF?
Only after Make searchable has turned its pictures into text.
Can I download the audio?
Not yet. Browsers don’t let a web page record their speech voices.
Is my file uploaded anywhere?
No. The file is opened and changed inside your browser, on your own device. There is no upload step and no server that receives it. You can even switch off your internet after the page has loaded and most tools keep working.
