Question 1

Are my files uploaded?

Accepted Answer

No. Every tool runs inside your browser, on your device. There is no upload step and no server that receives your files.

Question 2

Does it work offline?

Accepted Answer

After the page has loaded, most tools keep working without internet. Loading the page the first time needs a connection. Word, PowerPoint and Excel to PDF download their converter once (about 74 MB) and then work offline too.

Question 3

Can you remove a PDF password?

Accepted Answer

Only one you already know. Anvy PDF does not guess or crack passwords.

Question 4

Is Sign with certificate the same as a DSC?

Accepted Answer

Only if you use a certificate file issued to you by a certifying authority. A certificate you make in the tool is self-signed: readers show “signer unknown”, and it is not a Digital Signature Certificate or an Aadhaar eSign.

Question 5

Which browsers and devices work?

Accepted Answer

Current versions of Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari, on computers, Android phones and iPhones. Very old browsers may not work.

Question 6

Is there a file size limit?

Accepted Answer

There is no limit set by us, because nothing is uploaded. The limit is your device’s memory. You will see a warning before a very large file is processed.

Question 7

Why won’t my PDF open in some tools?

Accepted Answer

Some PDFs are locked by their creator against changes (many bank statements are), and some need a password to open. Anvy PDF respects these locks. You can still view and often compress or convert them, but editing tools will explain why they can’t proceed.

Question 8

Does Edit PDF keep the original font?

Accepted Answer

Where it can, yes: the line you change is rewritten in the PDF’s own font and size. If that font is missing a letter you type, the line is drawn with a close look-alike font instead.

Question 9

Does Edit PDF work on scanned PDFs?

Accepted Answer

Scanned pages are pictures, so their lines can’t be retyped. You can still cover old words with the Eraser (it matches the paper colour) and type new words on top with Add text.

Question 10

Can it convert Word, PowerPoint and Excel?

Accepted Answer

Yes, both ways. Word, PowerPoint and Excel to PDF run a full document converter inside your browser. PDF to Word, PowerPoint and Excel rebuild editable files from the PDF’s text, tables and pictures; pages with a free layout come out simpler, so check the result.

Question 11

What is the difference between the website and the Android app?

Accepted Answer

They share the same tools, look and promise. The app works fully offline and has a camera scanner with automatic edge detection. The website needs nothing to install and runs on computers too.

Question 12

Accepted Answer

The tools on this website are free to use today.
