Using Anvy PDF
You may use the website to work on files you own or have the right to change. You are responsible for what you do with your files and for keeping the originals. Always keep a copy of the original before you edit, merge or compress.
What you must not do
- Use the tools to forge or falsify documents, or to deceive someone or break the law.
- Try to remove protection from a file you are not allowed to open or change.
- Attempt to disrupt the website or copy it as your own product.
No guarantee
The tools are provided “as is”. PDFs vary a lot, and a tool may not work perfectly on every file. Check the result before you send or rely on it. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss or damage from using the website, including lost or altered files.
Signatures
The Sign tool places an image of your signature on a page. It is not a certificate-based digital signature. Whether a document accepts it is up to whoever asked you to sign.
The Sign with certificate tool adds a digital signature made with a certificate file you provide, or with a certificate you make in the tool. A certificate you make yourself is not issued by a certifying authority: readers show it as “signer unknown”, it shows that a file was not changed after signing but does not prove who signed it, and it is not a Digital Signature Certificate (DSC) or an Aadhaar eSign. Do not rely on it where the law, an office, a bank or a portal requires one. You are responsible for keeping your certificate file and its password safe: we do not receive or store them, so we cannot recover them.
