Your files
When you open a PDF or image in Anvy PDF, it is read and changed by code running inside your own browser. The website has no upload feature and no server that receives your files, the text in them, your signatures or your passwords. We cannot see them, keep them or share them, because they never reach us.
What stays in your browser
- Your choice of light, dark or device theme, saved in your browser’s local storage.
- Your chosen language, the name you type on sticky notes in Annotate, whether you type in Hindi in Edit PDF and Fill PDF form, and your last six custom colours, saved in local storage so you don’t have to pick them again.
- Nothing else about you is stored by the site today. If a future feature needs to remember something (for example a licence key), this page will say so.
All of it stays on your device. You can clear it at any time from your browser’s site settings.
Files kept for offline use
So the tools keep working without internet, your browser keeps a copy of the website’s own program files: the pages, the text-recognition engine and, once you use Word, PowerPoint or Excel to PDF, the document converter (about 74 MB, downloaded once from this site). These are program files, not your documents. Clearing this site’s data in your browser removes them.
Certificates and passwords
When you sign with a certificate, or lock or unlock a PDF, the certificate file and its password are used inside this tab only. They are not stored and not sent anywhere, so we cannot recover them for you.
Camera
When Scan to PDF uses this device’s camera in the browser, it asks your browser for camera access. The picture is used on the page only, to make your PDF, and is not sent anywhere. You can block camera access in your browser at any time.
Read aloud voices
Read aloud uses the speech voices of your device and browser. By default only voices built into your device are offered, so the text stays on your device. If you choose to turn on online voices, your browser sends the text being read to its maker (for example Google or Microsoft) to produce the sound; that is handled by your browser under its own privacy terms, and Anvy PDF receives nothing.
Contact form
The contact form is the one place where the website sends something you typed. When you press Send, your name, email address, subject and message go through Web3Forms (web3forms.com), a form-delivery service, to our inbox, so we can reply. Nothing is sent while you type, and no files can be attached.
Hosting and fonts
The website is served from a static hosting provider. Like any web host, it may keep ordinary technical logs of requests (such as the page requested and the IP address) for security and reliability. These logs do not contain your files. The fonts are served from this site itself, not from a third-party font service.
Children
Anvy PDF is a general-purpose tool and does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children.
Android app
The Android app has its own privacy policy on its Google Play page, because it is a separate product with its own permissions.
