Questions
Can I make my PDF smaller than 100 KB or 200 KB for an upload form?
Yes, if the file’s size comes mostly from pictures. Under “Or fit a size limit”, pick 100 KB, 200 KB, 500 KB, 1 MB or 2 MB, or type your own limit. The tool tries several settings and keeps the gentlest one that fits, so pictures stay as sharp as possible. If the file can’t get that small (text and fonts can’t shrink), it tells you the smallest size it could reach.
Will the text get blurry?
No. Only pictures inside the PDF are re-compressed. Text stays as text and stays sharp.
What if the file can’t get smaller?
You never get a bigger file back. If nothing can be saved, the tool tells you the file is already optimized.
Why did my PDF barely change?
PDFs that are mostly text have few pictures to shrink. Pictures stored in some special formats are left as they are.
Is my file uploaded anywhere?
No. The file is opened and changed inside your browser, on your own device. There is no upload step and no server that receives it. You can even switch off your internet after the page has loaded and most tools keep working.
