Will the text still be text?
Yes. Colours are changed inside the PDF, so text stays sharp, selectable and searchable. Only a page using colour gradients or special spot colours is redrawn as a gray picture, and the result says which pages.
Will a print shop count it as black and white?
Yes. Text, drawings and pictures are all stored as gray, and every page is checked for any colour left before you download.
Is my file uploaded anywhere?
No. The file is opened and changed inside your browser, on your own device. There is no upload step and no server that receives it. You can even switch off your internet after the page has loaded and most tools keep working.
