How strong is the protection?

Files are encrypted with AES-256, the standard strength used by modern PDF readers.

Can you recover a forgotten password?

No. Anvy PDF only removes a password you can supply. It does not crack passwords.

Can I remove ‘no editing’ restrictions?

No. If a creator has locked a file against changes, Anvy PDF will not strip that.

Is my file uploaded anywhere?

No. The file is opened and changed inside your browser, on your own device. There is no upload step and no server that receives it. You can even switch off your internet after the page has loaded and most tools keep working.
